Longhoughton Parish Council – Climate Change: Can You Help?
Longhoughton Parish Council is launching a community-led effort to tackle climate change, and we need your help to make it a success.
Our recently approved Neighbourhood Plan commits us to action on sustainability, nature recovery, and reducing carbon emissions. Now we want to turn those commitments into real projects that benefit everyone in the parish.
We’re exploring three areas where we think the community could make a genuine difference: protecting and expanding local habitats and wildlife; helping residents understand the practical steps they can take; and potentially generating clean, affordable energy for the community.
But none of this happens without people. We’re looking for volunteers who care about the future of our parish and want to get involved — whether you have a few hours a month or more, whether your skills are practical, creative, digital, or simply enthusiastic.
If you’re interested, please get in touch via cllr.m.calam@longhoughton-pc.gov.uk. We’ll organise an initial meeting soon to pool ideas and hear what people would most like to work on.
